Submited By: Nigel Collier on 06/20/2009 A medium-dark snuff with a distinctly reddish tinge to it. It is very finely ground but also moist so that it does ball up into clusters - like damp, silver sand. Dipping my nose into the sachet (this was a free sampler), I'm not sure the sweet 'toffee' aroma works well with what are quite strong tobacco base notes. There is a sort of chocolatey smell there but it is accompanied by an almost fishy/gluey aroma and a definite woody/tobacco smell. Taking a pinch, I have to say the overall effect is much more pleasant in the nostril; the less pleasant aromas do not come through as much as I feared and the snuff does smell more like the old sweet shop at Beamish museum. I can't say it wasn't enjoyable, but I can see it being perhaps too sickly for more than occasional use.
