High Dry Toast Snuff by Fribourg & Treyer is blended with Zimbabwe Flue Cured Stem, Dark Fired Leaf & Sun Cured Leaf tobacco.

High Dry Toast is a natural tobacco snuff with added flavours.

Historic description of Fribourg & Treyer High Dry Toast snuff state that it is of Irish origin, and that this unique snuff has a niche of its own among the dry kinds.

The description goes on to state that High Dry Toast is superfine, almost powder in mill and that it has a strange nutty flavour of deceptive strength. It is the lightest of all snuffs in colour. Though not of universal popularity, its followers are a staunch and conservative body.

It goes on to say that like Elia’s RoastPork, the forerunners of this variety of snuff were discovered by accident, when the tobacco burned in a Dublin factory was sold to be consumed as snuff.

For serious snuffers only. This beautifully pale tobacco is expertly toasted and ground very fine. It is a classic and a complex blend of tobacco. Leather, wood, old, musty are some of the adjectives that come to mind. The smell reminded me of something, some treasure that my father had. I don\'t remember what. I just remember that it was old and a keepsake and I would sneak time with it when I could. Now I have a treasure for myself. A snuff to take me away from today. To sneak time with. And time with is what should be taken as this snuff is not to be rushed. A delicate pinch or spoonful carfully taken is required. A relaxing moment indeed. There are other toasts available each with there own character. All winners in my book. If you are interested in toasted style snuff then get this classic.

One of the best HDTs. It is delicious. Leathery and woody, with a fine dry consistency that sits in the nose very comfortably. I always tend to default back to this as my every day snuff. I never get tired of it. A bonus for toasts is that because they are already fairly dry, they last longer in a snuff box before they turn unpleasant.
