Hedges Snuff L260 'The Snuff' is based on a recipe dating back to the 1800's and was invented by William Ross Hedges, a chemist from Birmingham, who prescribed Hedges Menthol Snuff as a cure for colds and other ailments.

Hedges L260 'The Snuff' is a medium brown, slightly moist, fine to medium ground menthol snuff, and is available in 'large' round tins that will easily give several days worth of snuffing pleasure.

Also known as 'The Snuff', Hedges is considered by many snuff takers to be a 'every day' snuff and is suitable for both beginners and experts alike.

Well I have had a sniffle for a day or two now and was wondering whether there is anything you could recommend? Ah....you need some Hedges L260! Yea this will soon clear it up."

To me this is what Hedges is all about. I can simply imagine a local chemist in 1800's selling this as a cold cure. This has real bite and will startle you if your off guard. Its a real oddity this one because on opening the tin you get an aroma of industrial cleaner but once you get past it there is a nice suprise waiting!

Coarser in tecture but manageble and as fresh as the spring rain.
If the truth is known I cannot see myself taking this tin out with me - its huge in comparison to many but this can be dealt with by simply decantering some into your favourite snuff box.
Take Hedges and I hope you sniffle gets better!

Definitely great value, being supplied in a large tin that's full to overflowing. Pop-off lid, so I won't be carrying the tin around with me.

A medium moist, medium grind snuff that's very easy to take, regardless of method. Took a little while to stand to remove the ammonia, so it's very fresh. It has a very strong menthol kick that I found a little overpowering. Earthy, slightly dirty undertones left a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. I didn't find the nicotine hit as strong as some people have, I would say it was medium. Far from helping to clear my head and sinuses, this snuff has left me a little bunged up every time I've used it, and leaves a blood like smell in my nose for an hour or so after the menthol disappears.

I'll keep coming back to this snuff for a while for small pinches, but I couldn't use it every day and my go-to menthol snuff will remain Ozona President.

This is my favourite snuff so far. Its got a mean kick to it and it satisfies my cravings.

I used to smoke 10-15 cigarettes a day at work. Since being on L260 I have only felt the need to smoke 3-4 cigarettes a day.

This snuff is sensational in my opinion and will be a regular nasal pleasure for me for a long time.

After recently deciding to stop a 40-a-day for 20 years smoking habit, I happened upon this site and decided that snuff may be the way for me. I purchased a few different items, and picked this up mostly because of it\'s history and packaging (I love tobacco tins etc). this snuff for me was love at first sniff! The moistness of the grind was easy to take (though it was difficult at first to ascertain the correct amount), and the menthol is powerful and clarifying. Akin to being on a snowfield on a clear, windy day.
The only \"negative\" is that the tin is over-filled. I found that I needed to decant two thirds into a ziplock bag for future use, and although it\'s my all-day, everyday snuff (with the exception of Cafe Noir at night), I still have about half a tin left after 2 weeks.

This snuff is infectious-delicious!! Menthol & Adult!! Lovely warm feeling after taking it!! I am a woman snuff taker as my Grandmother before me and love this snuff-dont come across many women!!

Hedges is what I would call an 'old school' snuff as I remember the old chaps having it in my youth.
It comes in the larger style tin, I have never seen it in a smaller receptacle so for better or worst you have got a good stock of it to be getting on with.

Texture is fine but not too abrasive with a slight moistness, it does give a tickle up your nose.

Flavour is full on menthol, I would compare it to an extra strong mint with a pepper overtone. I have worked up to Hedges from O&G and Crumbs of Comfort so I would not recommend this to a first time menthol snuffer, more for experienced nostrils.

Backed up with a powerful nicotine kick this is a hefty snuff but not so robust to make it unpleasant.

One for the menthol connoisseurs!
