McChrystal's Original And Genuine Snuff is an excellent slightly moist snuff, ideal for both the beginner and expert alike.

Original & Genuine is made to a secret recipe that's been unchanged for 80 years. It's described as the 'classic' nasal tobacco experience.

Many snuffers rate McChrystal's Original and Genuine very highly. For some Original and Genuine is an everyday snuff, for many it is ranked as the snuff that they would suggest to a beginner.

McCrystals OG Revisited.

I have been dabbling with various snuffs and blends for some considerable time now and I have been waiting for the 5 score to arrive. Ok, my senses have obviously changed over the years and I am now going to overule my previous post as I now believe that I have found the best snuff on the market.

OG is simply unique and there is nothing else in the world like it. (or at least I haven't found it yet). The simple truth is that this snuff surpasses anything else that I have experienced so its official - this is my first 5 score! Congratulations to the team at McCrystals for an excellent snuff and this one will be with me until my Groundhog Day.

The blend is gentle, tasteful and has an aroma like no other. I can find a slight nutty undertone here but combined with the gentle menthol you have a near on perfect companion. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the years and don't let this one pass you by, its truly remarkable and like no other. Best wishes, Laurie

O.G is worthy of its reviews and has earned its place in history. It is similar to JIP but seems to have the edge as it is slightly more 'astringent' However, take this with you wherever you go and I think you have all you need in a snuff as an everyday. The gind is fine so it does make friends with your throat but hey....that's snuffing for you. If you want something more menthol go for McCrystals English. If you prefer it a bit more lemoney then aim for JIP. However, this is a safe all rounder so enjoy years of history! Laurie

McChrystal\'s Original Genuine Snuff
This snuff has a mild menthol character, together with a slight ammonia whiff from fresh tobacco. There is also a hint of some earthy/spicy character I can\'t quite identify.

The aroma is not very long-lasting, however a large pinch will give a very satisfying and relaxing nicotine hit.

Not as strong in menthol as one might expect in an English \'medicated\' snuff, but satisfying in its effect.

This is one of my all time favourites and we go back a long,long way.I always class this as one of the Holy Trinity of menthols but the truth is that can be a bit deceptive.
In O&G you have a perfect blend of menthol and eucalyptus with a subtle hint of clove followed by a delicate frutiy finish.Given that this has been on the go for over 80 years I get the impression that in this time it has been perfected, McChrystal's found a winning formula and have stuck with it.
As Mr Jaatinen says below, buy the large tin because if you're like myself you'll find yourself dipping into this all day.Personally I can't get enough of it.

Wow! What a wake-up call! When my most recent order came in from "SnuffStore" this is the one I tried first. A bit of a shock, at first. The initial 'burn' was so startling I thought I'd gone blind in the left eye! But it soon calmed down & the scents came through. As clean as cold, fresh sheets on the bed on a hot Summers night. And there is a sweetness at the back that reminds me of fruity boiled sweets. There are also some more complex & subtle flavours in there but more pinches are neccesary to pick those out. This snuff packs a proper punch and I think I'll be getting through as much of this as I do the 'Hedges', if not more.

there is something quite "heavenly" in that complex flavour, it strikes like religious fanatic and leaves harmonic and purified feeling. medicated to perfection . . probably used widely in exorcism too.
if you are into medicated snuff (order large tin and) enjoy. maybe not everyday snuff for me but surtainly a must have in every snuffers snuff-hobby-kit.
