Mitchells Snuff By Gawith Hoggarth

Mitchells Snuff (previously labelled as Mitchells Special) is a fine dry light brown snuff with a floral scent.

Mitchells has a 'kick' to it. It's not unpleasant, but you definitely know you've taken a snuff - if you get what I mean...

There's something familar about Mitchells that is difficult to 'put your finger on'. It has a long lasting floral scent that seems to develop whilst in the nose.

Perhaps Mitchells is more for the connoisseur than the beginner - not that beginners should be put off this snuff, but please be careful on the first few pinches.

This fine snuff has the potential of being taken too far into the nose if a over exuberant sniff is taken!

As has been said before, this is dry-ish, medium grind snuff. As a pincher I've never been a fan of GH boxes because you have to pour first (I attempted a back of the hand sniff with Mitchells and I swear it attacked my left retina). Although the 'flavour' is difficult to place, the overwhelming sent for me is of cloves - specifically when they are stuck in an orange around Christmas. The snuff has a beautiful combination of fruit and spice, almost like mulled wine, and as the other reviewers have said, it definitely keeps you coming back for more.

Medium brown with the typical Gawith Hoggarth moisture content and grind and pours out of the dispenser a bit too easily. The aroma is pot-pourri, spicy incense and a floral finish and lingers a long time. Quite heavenly and highly recommended to those who like traditional floral/spice snuffs, such as the Fribourg and Treyer varieties. Easy to get carried away with this one. 10/10.

Odd but addictive! Reminds me of pre football matches, Wintergreen! Complex flavours, but I find I keep coming back for another pinch. nearly at the ned of this box will be ordering again.

My local tobacconist stocks quite a few snuffs and always gives samples of varous different kinds....i was walking out of his shop but had to go back because of unusual scent in my nose... hence i made this purchase. i loath and detest floral snuffs and i can't account for my liking of this perfumed variety. trying to place the scent...perhaps cloves and roses feature but its hard to tell... there is no earthly reason why i should enjoy this but i like it and seems to devolop in the nose and linger a fair while....very unusual and for that reason..recommended!
