We’ve added today McChrystals SP snuff. We’ve had a few requests for this ‘difficult to get hold of’ snuff, so hopefully the addition will please those of you who are interested in trying McChrystal’s ‘take’ on the popular SP style of snuff.

The snuff itself is a natural tobacco snuff, fine, light brown in colour and dry-ish. It has a interesting citrus / hoppy like scent to it. Of course, it may be a little ’sneezy’ for some; so test with intial small pinches before ‘diving in’!

Strangely McChrystals SP is referred to as SP 100 by McChrystals, but there’s no mention of this on the packaging. Why SP 100 we do not know!

Akuz Snuff is the latest tobacco free snuff offering from Zuka, and is seen by Zuka as being potentially their ‘flagship’ snuff.

Bernard Snuff

We’re pleased to announce that we now stock Bernard Snuff.

The Bernard snuff company was founded in 1733 by Johann Nikolaus Bernard (1709-1780) in Offenbach am Main. The location was chosen because of the promised privileges of the Isenburg’s lords. So the Bernard snuff company got the name, “Fürstlich Isenburgische privilegierte Schnupftabakfabrik”.

During 2008, Bernard’s is celebrating 275 years of manufacture and have launched a Jubilee Snuff to mark this wonderful and historic occassion. Jubilaums Snuff is a limited edition snuff and has a has a fruity, spicy aroma with added menthol freshness. The Jubilee snuff is dark, finely ground and slightly moist; it is a perfect every day snuff.

The most popular product of the Gebrüder Bernard snuff company historically was and still is today the “Schmalzler“.

The production of schmalzler snuff is very extensive and time consuming; in spite of modern technical progress, Bernard’s Schmalzler and other snuff tobaccos are still made and blended using traditional methods of production, and are completely handmade. Bernard’s continue to develop new snuff blends.

Hi All,

Just had a few deliveries in today to tell you about, some new stock added and some exciting news about a new brand and numerous blends potentially due in next week!

Snuff Bullets, two new ones added, the Posh Metal is back in stock, so is the Posh Blue and Purple.

Oliver Twist Chewing Tobacco, Royal is back in stock and Original & Tropical stocks have been replenished.

Taxi Snuff, Taxi Red is back in stock. Others have been replenished.

J & H Wilsons Snuff, Medicated 99 Large is back in stock, all others have been replenished.

Samuel Gawith Snuff, there’s a offer on all tins of Samuel Gawith. We’re looking to clear all the old tins in anticipation of the new cartons arriving. Prices on tins have been further reduced from £1.35 to £1.00 while stocks last. They’ll return to £1.45 as we replace with plastic cartons, which several have already moved over to.

Last but not least, we’ve great news for all snuff tobacco enthusiasts out there… In the next few days we’re expecting delivery of a brand new snuff. This snuff previously hasn’t been available to us, but we are pleased to say that we’ll be adding 16 blends of snuff from this european snuff manufacturer to our ever increasing snuff stock list.

With the addition of this snuff manufacturer to our inventory, we’ve just realised that our total inventory of different snuff related items that we keep in stock has peaked 500…

Samuel Gawith Snuff Sale

As you may or may not know, Samuel Gawith are gradually moving over to plastic snuff cartons from the ‘old’ tins.

We have been selling the Samuel Gawith snuff tins that we still have in stock well below RRP, in anticipation of our stock moving over to the newer display plastic containers.

We still have a few Samuel Gawith snuffs available in tins and to clear this last batch, we have further reduced the price of these to £1.00 per tin.

Of course, some of the Samuel Gawith blends are newer stock than others; as until very recently we had been re-supplying some blends that aren’t currently available in the new plastic cartons with the old tins.

So this is the final reduction on Samuel Gawith Snuff. The RRP is £1.45 and at £1.00 a tin, you’re saving nearly a third off of the suggested retail price.

As and when the S & G blends are replenished with 10g cartons instead of tins, the price will revert back to £1.45 - as it has on several of the Samuel Gawith snuff blends already.

Snuff reviews function has just been added to Snuff Store. You can now review any of the 300+ items that Snuff Store currently has in stock. Use the function to give us feedback, use the reviews to alert other snuffers of a ‘great’ snuff, or a ‘bad’ snuff. To see a ‘live’ example of a snuff review you can click Old Paris Snuff.

Once done, the snuff review page will open and there’s a few short descriptions above the review text box that you can type into on how to use the review function. Your review will show your name - this isn’t linked to your email or anything, so you won’t get people contacting you.

If you’d like us to add your snuff review for you, or would like snuff reviews added using a different name, please contact us and we’ll happily do this for you.

If you’ve tried and liked (or maybe disliked) a particular snuff, you can now write a snuff review that will appear under the particular brand /or blend of snuff’s main listing.

Writing a snuff review is a good way of alerting other snuff users of your thoughts on a particular snuff. Try to be as descriptive as possible. Include the flavours that you can detect for example, or whether the snuff in question is a ‘must try’ snuff in your opinion.

The snuff reviews hopefully will become a ‘independent’ measure that people can use in helping them to decide whether to try a particular snuff or not.

Ice Liquorice Snuff is a new snuff from Wilsons of Sharrow.

Apart from the obvious lovely liquorice flavour, the ice ‘part’ of the snuff is menthol; and this Ice Liquorice snuff has constantly been ‘open’ on our desk since it’s arrival!

Ice Liquorice is a light brown finely ground snuff and in our opinion is perfectly pinchable. Ice Liquorice isn’t ‘moist’, but the pinch does retain it’s ’shape’ - if you give it a good squeeze between finger and thumb.

Ice Liquorice snuff has a distinctive scent of liquorice and menthol when removing the ‘green wrapper’ and opening the tin.

A gentle sniff of Ice Liquorice before taking a pinch and there’s no doubt what this snuff is ‘all about’. If you’re a liquorice fan, then you’re just going to love this new blend from Wilsons of Sharrow.

We’ve been crying out for a ‘true’ liquorice snuff and the arrival of Ice Liquorice is a welcome surprise, if you’re a liquorice fan who’s been having to make do with ‘aniseed’ flavours instead; we’re sure you’ll be as happy as us on this new flavour’s release.

The Ice part of the Liquorice is ‘menthol’. The menthol isn’t so over powering as to do the liquorice a injustice. On first snuffing, we noticed the liquorice immediately; sure there’s menthol and it adds to the snuffing experience, but the liquorice stays in the nose for a while.

A refreshing snuff, ideal for both beginners and experts alike. If you like menthol snuffs, then Ice Liquorice is bound to be a pleasure. If you’re a liquorice ‘nut’ then you’re going to be in ‘heaven’!

Packards Club Snuff - supply in the UK to be ceased!

We don’t like to be the bearer of ‘bad news’, but we’ve just been told that very shortly Packards Club snuff will no longer be available in the UK.

Thinking this must be some kind of mistake, we immediately contacted Poschl via email. We received at first ‘promising’ news and then unfortunately second, a withdrawl of this news a few days later. The bomb shell being dropped that our supplier is correct. Packards Club will shortly no longer be imported into the UK.

Packards Club Snuff is a favourite of many snuff users. Packards Club is a old snuff blend, and ironically originally it is a British blend; now made under licence in Germany by Poschl.

On a personal level, it was one of our ‘first’ favourite snuffs - way before the launch of Snuff Store and has remained one of our ‘every day’ snuffs.

Packards Club comes in a really nice retro style box, with a serving ‘doser’. It’s a fruity snuff, slightly moist and generally considered by many to be a ‘every day’ snuff.

So what can we do? Well as ‘consumers’ as well as a snuff store owner, we think it’s only right that we lobby Poschl and try to get them to change their mind.

It seems strange that during a ’snuff revival’, a time when more and more tobacco users are moving to the gentle art of snuff taking not just in the UK, (but also world-wide) that a decision such as this has been made.

Maybe if enough of us get together and contact Poschl in protest, spread the word to other snuff users and get more and more people involved in our protest, Poschl may change their mind about withdrawing Packards Club.

We recently ‘lost’ Robbies Snuff in the UK - although fortunately there are a few wholesalers left in the UK with supplies. The reason we had been given for the loss of Robbies, was that it wasn’t financially viable to print the ‘warning labels’ in English.

We do not know the reason why Packards Club is being withdrawn, as a ‘good seller’ on Snuff Store it doesn’t make any sense to us. It certainly isn’t going to make any sense to the regular Packards Club users in the UK - whether they purchase Packards Club from Snuff Store or not is besides the point…

So if you want to lodge a protest, add a comment to this post below and here’s the email address for Poschl. Make them aware of your feelings towards removing Packards Club before it’s too late.

Been a bit lazy with the snuff posts recently - apologies.
