It’s difficult to select just one Rosinski snuff variety to name as my top choice; each has such wonderful character and is utterly unique in its own right. Nordisch Grün, however, is decidedly my favorite. In several months I have bought 70 grams of it.
Overall, the product description is reasonably accurate. One aspect I’d like to highlight is the ‘fleeting’ in ‘fleeting floral notes,’ because I get no floral from this particular variety. I’m glad for that, because this is truly an evergreen snuff. The menthol is *just* there - just a touch, and it’s perfect. Hay, grass, green green green is the name of this snuff variety’s game. A sweetness contributes to the overall complexity and beauty. It’s not a sickly or saccharine sweet, but one more resembling natural sugars from tree sap. And I certainly sense a citrus tang akin to the aroma of an orange rind’s interior.
The grind is certainly medium but it can feel a bit coarser, or grainy, due to the low moisture level. The grind isn’t completely uniform, as small bits and pieces, somewhat lighter in color than the rest and elongated, lie peppered across an otherwise immaculate and uniform grind of fresh green tobacco. It’s color reminds me of a deeper hue of maple leaves, or perhaps an olive green.
It has wonderful pinchability and stays compressed between my finger tips with ease but breaks apart and coats the nasal passage as one rubs the fingers together to release it. Let me just impress upon any reader out there that this snuff is balanced, enticing, completely unique, refreshing, aesthetically beautiful and should be in every snuffer’s arsenal. Don’t enjoy menthol? Neither do I, and yet the menthol level is such that it becomes its own flavor in the presence of the other aromas. Lastly, it manages to pack an impressive nicotine punch which I would rate a 6.5-7/10.
Rosinski, you have made an absolutely stellar product here. To this day it remains perhaps the single snuff that produces a full-on *experience* for me. Even better than Morgentau which itself is phenomenal. Whether taking this inside or outdoors, I plan to cultivate a long and happy relationship with Nordisch Grün.
