I simply have to agree. If you nip to your local stables and bale out some Hay you have then experienced what Blue Crest is all about.
I am of the opinion that our friends at Samuel Gawith could rename this snuff 'Meadow Walk' or 'Devonshire Farm' and this would be exactly what we are dealing with here.

The consistancy, grind and finish is there and the scent will take you there. Its a simple as that.

Enjoy, Laurie

I worked on several farms in my youth and visited each and every one with my first snuff of this brown beauty! Wet straw, hay bales, cows, horses & wheat chaff with a touch of savouriness. Other reviewers have said it's a medium grind but I found it quite fine. It's pretty easy to take, just a bit dusty. Why they call it "Blue Crest" though I don't know. It should be called "Rustica" or "Beucollico" or some such, perhaps even "Manor Farm"! A mild to medium nicotine hit but the scent on its own is worth a 5, just for the nostalgia value ;0) Anyway, you can be sure I'll be getting more.

This is a very interesting snuff and subtle in every way.Light brown, fine grind, slightly moist and very easy to take.
It does have a rustic nose to it and reminds me of my days growing up in England's countryside.I can't think of another snuff to compare this to so I feel that it's uniqueness is part of it's charm.
It's quite mild, there is no great kick to it and one of those you can enjoy all day.

I love this snuff and it was the first snuff i have tried and its a favorite.

i took a pinch as was immidiently transported into the country
i felt like i was standing inside a stable i could smell hoarses and their leather sadles then i got a strong rolling in hay scent then floral and a hint of menthol then lastly got the smell of trecking through soil and mud in a field then sadly i was back in the kitchen but refeshed and energized!

totally thew me into the country side
just buy it!

This is a very nice snuff with a pure tobacco taste. It has a medium grind, and a scent that smells a bit like a barnyard. It smells chocolaty in the tin, and like hay and old wood in the nose, very pleasant. If you live in the city, this is a nice snuff to give you a little bit of the country life. If you live in the country, you'll be right at home :^)
