Silver Snuff Box with image of Comedy / Tragedy Theatre Masks

This silver snuff box has a raised image of the Comedy / Tragedy masks displaying a smiling and sad face. This well known mask image dates back to ancient Greece and is commonly associated with the theatre and is often displayed in relation to the theatre - on road signs and the like.

The snuff box itself is 4cm x 2.5cm x 1cm weighs 15g and will hold approximately 2g of snuff - so for most people it will hold ample for an evening at the theatre!

The box itself is 'hinged' and the lid closes tightly with a 'snap' and is snuff proof. The hindge when the box is closed / open does not come in to contact with the snuff and so will not clog. However care should be taken when filling to ensure that snuff doesn't clog the hindge.
