Palisander Wood Snuff Box

A beautiful individually handmade snuff box, (so the grain and colour may differ slightly from the image.) all are of excellent quality and lovely to hold.

The Palisander Wood Snuff box is hand made by a craftsman in Germany on a 'bespoke' basis, to a very practical (no surprise there then eh?) design - BMW, Mercedes, Wooden Snuff Box...

Palisander wood is a heavy 'hard' wood and notoriously difficult to carve. The Palisander wood snuff boxes are finished with a bees wax polish on the outside.

The snuff box measures approximately 7cm long, 4cm wide and 2cm deep. It can hold around 10g of your favourite snuff.

The operation of opening this Palisander snuff box is ingenious. The lid closes very tightly and is held in place by a beech dowel, which will colour up with use from the snuff tobacco it holds in place.

To open, you slide the dowel out and what only can be described as a 'triangular' opening appears in the box. Fill the box with your favourite snuff. Replace the pieces and you're all set. To view full operating instructions, click how to use snuff box.

To use, push the dowel in and a small circular opening will appear. You can then tap out your snuff onto the back of your hand, and sniff or pinch to your nose.
