SP No. 1 Snuff is a popular snuff from J & H Wilson.

SP No. 1 Snuff retains a huge following among snuff users, due to it still being obtainable in some traditional tobacconists and high st newsagents.

Considered by some to be a everyday snuff, SP No. 1 Snuff is a light brown, finely ground dryish snuff.

As someone else mentioned,I used to see this one everywhere when I was growing up - newsagent,tobacconist, grocers even the pubs had it.Everybody tries this at one time or other.
Very common and popular,it is finely ground and I recommend the first timer to try a small amount until you get used to it.
An all time classic and one I still like to get occasionally even for old times\' sake.

This snuff has nice mild musty texture to it that is not that strong burning on the nose. Its very pleasant for beginers of snuff taking.

I wonder how many of us discovered Snuff for the first time with this classic? I love perfumed styles but this is honest, simple, original snuff. It comes in a handy, airtight container (which is thankfully filled to the correct level). It is what it is folks, you know what I mean. It\'s not an exciting or intoxicating snuff, just a good, basic flavour that I\'m pleased to come back too time and time again.

This was one of the three flavours I bought in my recent rediscovery of snuff, mainly because I remember the little blue tin from corner shops in my youth and it was the first snuff I ever tried as a teenager (it gave me a runny nose made me sneeze a lot, so I didn’t persevere at the time).

Now, my snuff palate is still yet to mature, although it is a plain tobacco snuff there’s a lovely sweetish undertone that is quite unique and I find the scent of an open tin of S.P. No 1 catapults me back to the late ’70s/early ’80s - marvellous!

I would agree that you have to take it easy as a beginner with this one, but gentle sniffs of small pinches should acclimatise you to this,
a real elder statesman of snuff.

A typical SP style snuff flavored with bergamont and having a very fine grind. Nothing too special to me here and I most likely would not make a second purchase of this snuff due to the fact there are other option available to me on the market when looking for an SP style snuff.
