Item Description

Stammheimer Hopfen Schnupf (Hops Snuff) by McChrystals' is a hop flavoured snuff of distinctive flavour and quality.

Stammheimer Hopfen snuff is a as close to a 'beer' flavoured snuff that we've come across. The flavour is bitter, sweet, and tangy all at the same time!

Stammheimer Hopfen snuff has a nice aroma of hops and tobacco and as soon as you open the tin you'll notice the scent; which is quite unlike any other snuff we've tried.

This snuff is brown in colour and has a grind consistency similar to McChrystals' O & G.

Hop snuff comes in a McChrystals 'large' tin and contains about 8.75 g of snuff.

Stammheimer Hopfen snuff was originally specifically blended for a specific continental European market and due to this, prior to Snuff Store making the initial enquiries a few years back it was considered to be a 'difficult to get hold of snuff'.

Try Stammheimer Hopfen Schnupf by McChrystals today and see what all the fuss is about!

P.S From Laurie Vaughan,

As an interesting sidenote I have composed a blend which I think is just what Hopfen needed. Try introducing 5 parts of Hopfen to 3 parts of McCrystals English Menthol. You'll then have all you need in a 'Pub Snuff' (which by the way is what I have named it!) The moister McCrystals really does assist with the dusty style Hopfen and the result is a 'dark mild ale' tasting fayre with an icy cool finish. I hope you like my 'Pub Snuff' and thank you kindly for reading my post script. Enjoy & best wishes, Laurie

WOW! What an experience! Its worth trying this one even if it is just for the tin! The snuff itself is easy going and as good for the beginner as well as the conniseur. It does have a malty beer introduction and this is soon followed by what I would describe as Fairy liquid but don't let this put you off. Its a conversation opener and will get fellow snuffers talking! A good size tin too makes for good value and all that would be needed are some Laderhosen and and a large mug of quality german beer to finish the tale! Enjoy. Laurie

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that McCrystal's aren't just the masters of menthol!
This is a pleasing snuff and as stated in the other reviews it does have a nice sweetness to it with a slighlty bitter finish and the taste of hops is very evident.
A bit on the dry side and a fine grind but nevertheless a nice experience.

May I add that after extensive research ;0) I can recommend, as a mix, Hopfen with Wilsons of Sharrow "Irish Toast No. 20" or Snuffstore very own "Blenders Bundle"? The "BB", it has been suggested, should also be called "Sweet Stout", I believe. The caramel sweetness is sharpend wonderfuly by the Hopfen. And it doesn't upset the experience of drinking a decent pint of beer. A very lively & enjoyable occasion.

A fine grind & dry, perhaps a little too much for me. It doesn\'t just hit the back of the throat but, even with the daintiest of pinches it shoots all the way down to the lungs! But the scent is pleasingly sharp; not so much \"beer\" but definitely rich, dried hops. I\'ve off-set the sharpness at the top of the nose by taking a pinch of mild, sweet Apricot before the Hopfen & this calms down the initial acidic thwack at the back of the nose & throat. A little of this will last me some time but I shall be ordering more. It may grow on me. I\'d imagine that this one would be a good mixer with a coarser ground, moist, sweet snuff that needs a bit of pep.
