What to say? This is one of England's oldest, and most respected rose snuffs, and it is a very good rose-scented snuff. [It still surprises me how Roses, potentially a feminine flower, can make such a good "gentleman's" snuff!]
This is a very tough snuff to grade. It's a beautiful product, and deserving of all followers of floral and herbal snuffs to be received and enjoyed. It's an honest, pure rose snuff, set on a high-quality tobacco base, typical of Wilson's.
It doesn't have quite the refinement of Fribourg & Treyer's Macouba.
Consider it like this - it's a good, reasonably subtle, 12-year-old own-brand Highland Malt from one of the better supermarkets, whereas Fribourg's Macouba is a 12-year-old The Glenlivet.
Tough choice. There is no 4.5 on Snuff Store's scale. Hmm ...
OK - it gets a 5. [but try Fribourg's Macouba if you're after just a touch more elegance and subtlety...]
