Zuka Black Snuff is based on a 300 year old snuff recipe and contains a mild blend of tobacco flavoured with menthol to give the user a pleasant snuff experience.

Zuka Black snuff launched in the summer of 2007 and was taken to the Munich Beer festival in October 2007 for extensive 'consumer' trials.

The feedback on Zuka Black snuff from the beer festival has been good and a short video of the trials has been posted on Snuff Store's News blog.

Zuka comes in a cheeky bullet shaped dispenser that feeds a chamber which can be loaded and sniffed from.

Phillip Rudd, of Zuka commented: “Above all, this is about bringing snuff into the twenty first century and making it available to a totally new generation.

The last time snuff was being widely used in the UK Darwin’s Origin of Species had just been published, we were fighting the Crimean War and the French were revolting.

So it was important to bring it right up to date and develop two totally new types of snuff that are more suited to the modern British social scene.”

The tin dispenser is original, functional with nice design; the snuff itself is good quality with menthol flavoring. Recommended.

Hmm, I toyed with whether to write this review or not. Yes, the plastic bullet is a handy device though the amount dispensed is generous if you use as per the manufacturers instructions. The 'controversial' part of this review is for me the fragrance of this snuff. It smells like something that usually comes in a little brown block that you burn with a lighter, grind with your fingers and mix with tobacco to make (ahem!) a herbal cigarette. That is to my nose exactly what this smells like. I wonder if anybody else will make this comparison? It's not an unpleasant fragrance but then not really a stand out either. Zuka seem to be gearing themselves as a modern cigarette alternative so, for the inexperienced Snuffer, this will be something of a discovery. For me though, with so many wonderful flavours from other houses (of whom many have great distinction in the industry) this is nothing remarkable. I'll rate it 3 as its middle of the road for me.

Zuka black comes in a very functional plastic bullet. The only drawback of this bullet is that it is not re-usable. Once the snuff is gone thats it, as the bullet does not open.

The snuff itself is a traditional english style grind which is quite fine.

The menthol flavor is strong but nothing special in my opinion. Basically what I\'m saying is that although it is not a bad flavor, nothing about it really stands out.

In my opinion, only the real hardcore snuff hobbyist who likes to collect and try everything available like myself should buy this particular snuff...
