Item Description

Zwiefacher Schmalzler Snuff by Bernard

When I ran the description of Zwiefacher Schmalzler snuff through a German / English translation, I was given; 'incomparable in it's Schmalzler Snuff kind'.

I would tend to agree, but I will try and expand on the flavours of this wonderful schmalzler - which has nothing comparable in it's kind!

It's a cross between a schmalzler and a nice menthol snuff. What you end up with is a schmalzler with all the usual heady aromas of fermented maple, figs, raisins and dates, plus... a kind of menthol of the like of polar or gletcher prise.

These seperate and seemingly incompatible aromas combine into a snuff flavoured holy matrimony that has to be snuffed to be believed. The menthol is always there, just slide the doser and you'll be able to detect it... But there's something else, the schmalzler flavours and aromas.

Spicey, maple, fruity and menthol - it's truly without comparison!

A dark, fine, dry-ish snuff, served in 10g plastic containers with a 'twee' dancing couple on the front. This snuff is bound to be a firm favourite of those in and out of the menthol 'camp'.

Give Zwiefacher Schmalzler Snuff a try.

I didn't know what to make of this schmalzler at first. I was expecting more of an initial "hit" I suppose. But the more I use it the more I like it. The effect is very subtle, fresh and cool but not in an agressive way - Zwiefacher has a flavour that is unique in my experience, slightly fruity yet neither sweet nor bitter, refreshing but not medicinal...slightly fermented but not cloying...I don't really know how to describe it, but I love it!

I received this several weeks ago, and have been taking some every few days. I\'ve come to this conclusion: it\'s a better snuff than I\'m a snuff-taker. There\'s so much going on with this rich, earthy snuff that I can\'t keep up with it! The menthol I perceive not so much as menthol, but as freshness; just the way the menthol in S.Gawith\'s Gold Mull strikes me.

I\'m looking forward to trying more of the schmalzer style snuffs!

This is fast becoming one of my favourites in the evening! A real syrupy fruity desert snuff great with a coffee after you evening meal. A hint of menthol but the fruits really are at the fore. I agree that taste not long lasting, but a good excuse to keep taking!
